Dobson parroted Republican "cut and run" talking point to attack Murtha, Democrats

Summary: Focus on the Family's James Dobson accused "prominent Democrats" such as Rep. John P. Murtha (D-PA) of "implying we ought to cut and run" from Iraq, then compared Democrats' strategy for Iraq to "the last helicopter," referring to the helicopter evacuation of U.S. embassy employees from South Vietnam in 1975.

"OH, THE BLOOD THAT FLOWED..."

over 58,000 American soldiers were killed.

Apparently, that was not ENOUGH blood for Dobson. America entered VietNam to replace the French back in Ike"s days, in the early 50s. Over TWENTY YEARS later, we still hadn"t "stabilized" a damn thing in that civil war.

We NEED to be confronting terrorism where terrorists are plotting, in over 60 nations (according to the CIA). Iraq was NOT among those terrorist-supporting nations on the CIA list -- until we invaded. It STILL isn"t.

So, our brave American soldiers haven"t shed enough blood for Dobsons "focus on the family". Not enough families have lost members because BUSH told us Saddam posed an immediate danger because of his WMDs.

Any sane individual who claims we have set up the government in Iraq, and it is time for them to defend their own territory ... that does not satisfy Dobson"s blood lust.

GOD SAVE US FROM IRRATIONAL AND BLOODTHIRSTY RIGHTWINGERS.

(Jesus weeps)

We have set a dangerous precedent...

In Afghanistan, we had the backing of the world community, even the French, who viewed us as justice seekers for those we lost on 9/11.

In Iraq, we set a new precedent for nations to go to war with each other. We've shown nations like North Korea and Iran that the principles America fought and died for throughout its history no longer apply.

Make no mistake, the Iraq invasion is going to have lasting consequences on diplomacy worldwide. The world will be a more dangerous place.

The Blood That Flowed

Yes, we lost 58,000 men, hundreds of thousands wounded, and millions served, and the nations blood flowed during the long years of the Vietnam War. I was sure that we had all paid a steep price so that our country could learn from it's mistake. It wasn't until recently that I realized we learned nothing and that we had lost our soul in the process.

Let men like Dobson offer their sons and daughters this time.

hate to cut and paste but this is the way to respond

This Sunday Joe Biden refused to comment on a statement by Dick Cheney about how "cut 'n' run" from Iraq would be such a disastrous strategy. Blitzer asked him to respond (and by association acknowledge) Cheney's remark, and Biden said this:

BIDEN: No, I don't want to respond to him. He's at 20 percent in the polls. No one listens to him. He has no credibility. It's ridiculous...There's guys like me and a lot of others and on the Republican side, Chuck Hagel and Lindsey Graham, John McCain, across the board, who realize that this requires a political solution...

That is a great response!

"Noone listens to him" :D

How about YOU, Dobson?

Did you and any of your relatives serve in the miltary? Get shot at?

Or like your GOP buddies, did you "cut and run?"

They hate America

People like Dobson and his ild on the right really and truly hate this country. They take every opportunity to smear patriots like John Murtha and tear him down, but they themselves have done nothing to defend this country, to offer their lives to protect it. Seems like little Jimmie Dobson should read what his good buddy Jesus said about the Pharisees--about how they love to tie up large burdens for others to carry, but themselves will not lift a finger to help their fellows. They can't stand the people who love what this country stands for, and who are willing to hold this acministration to the laws that govern us, so they scream that everyone else is unamerican, hates this country and is unpatriotic. We need to start pointing out everytime one of these wingnuts decries a court decision they don't like, or when they tear down a true American that these nuts just hate America and perhpas they would be more at home in one of the countries that don't live by rule of law.

WHO?

Does anyone even pay attention to this idiot anymore?

I mean his core audience is comprised of religious nutjobs who could care less about the problems facing this country so long as they vote for someone who is against abortion, gays and the godless.

So who really cares what he says. Keep slamming him though. It's fun to see these morons shown up for the idiots they are.

He is hugely influential

His influence over the strategy for the Republican party is enormous. He needs to be watched.

Blood Will Flow

Does Dobson even keep up with the news? Blood has been flowing in Iraq, will flow as long as we are there and will continue many years maybe even decades after we leave. America should cut its losses and let the Iraqis have fun blwoing each other up and cutting each other's heads' off. We shouldn't spare even one more American life trying to bring Democracy to these savages.

Pharisee

"Man will not be free until the last king (politician) has been strangled on the entrails of the last priest" (preacher.) - Diderot

Dobson is a Pharisee. A false prophet. A viper. He's an evil, evil man. He's also obsessed with homosexuality. He and Falwell. Two of the biggest closet cases around these days.

Church & State?

Why is this man allowed to influence the Bush Adminstration as well as Falwell and Pat Robertson?

Take away the GOD HATES FAGS! signs and crude public behavior away from Fred Phelps and his incestual brood and they differ very little from the Dobson clan. These people distort facts and use fear to gain influence while spreading hatred and bigorty under the guise of spirituality. Why is Bush allowing hucksters like these to influence his administration?

I urge all people to join us in the 1000 Watt March against Focus On The Family in Colorado Springs on July 23rd. This man is dangerous to freedom and liberty. Do not take this bunch lightly!
