In interview with Cheney, Stephanopoulos let White House have it both ways on Iraq violence, highlighted only positive economic news

Summary: ABC News' George Stephanopoulos prompted Cheney to again blame the recent upsurge of violence in Iraq on an insurgent "strategy" to "influence" the midterm elections, asking Cheney if "that mean[s] that a Democratic victory is a victory for the insurgents," not mentioning the administration's recent pattern of attempting to extract political benefit from the ebb and flow of violence in Iraq by claiming success in both increases and decreases in levels of violence in Iraq.

I think this Dick is worried...

about his Helliburton stock. This election is big money for the boys in the White House. I am beginning to think that this mob all have tasted the water which Reagan left lying around. How can their base believe these guys? They are really desparate to keep themselves out of jail. Or at least the exposure which will eventually prove that these bums are liars. Their lies have caused death.

I am sorry to hear Nancy P. promise not to go after this gang of mobsters..but since she is a liberal, she can break that promise....right DICK

Cheney to Voters: Screw You

From today’s New York Times report on his interview with Stephanopoulous: “G.O.P. Turns to the Economy as Campaign Issue”

As Mr. Bush was attempting to shift the election debate to the positive domestic news, however, Vice President Dick Cheney was addressing head-on what polls showed was the Republicans’ greatest political liability: the administration’s determination to follow through on the war regardless of public opinion or election outcomes.

“Full speed ahead,” Mr. Cheney said in an interview with ABC News that was taped for broadcast Sunday, two days before the election.

“It may not be popular with the public,” he continued. “It doesn’t matter in the sense that we have to continue the mission and do what we think is right. And that’s exactly what we’re doing. We’re not running for office.”

Look, Shooter

I don't need someone 7,000 miles away telling me how to vote . . . I get enough of that here . . . and all I really have to do is hear how you don't seem to give a d--m about how an illegal war that has taken the lives of nearly 2900 US servicepersons and is vastly unpopular with Americans "doesn't matter." Trust me . . . that's MORE THAN ENOUGH to influence MY vote.

White House Good News

Snow (paraphrase): "Why isn't the media focusing on the good news, violence was down 23% in Iraq last week? What is wrong with you (press)? You shouldn't be reporting the bad news that 500 people got killed in Iraq fighting last week. You should be reporting the good news that 100 less people got killed that the week before?"

Did Snowjob mention how...

the administration posted detailed nuclear weapon plans on the "internets"?

George needs to start asking himself...

why Cheney keeps coming on his show.

Could it be that George is so widely watched that Cheney needs to appear so he can get his message out?

Could it be that George has such paramount skills of oration that he can help Cheney communicate with the American people?

Could it be that George will NEVER ask anything that Cheney does not want him to ask?

(I'm betting on the last one..)

Stephanie

George S. exposes his career as political apologist rather than journalist whenever he softballs a Repub. I think they agree on the "secret handshake" of politicism, rather than probes. Cheney simply says its the "right" policy on Iraq, no debate necessary in regard to the Dark Lord.

Advertising mass murder

This is why I do not watch those channels. They're all cheerleaders for mass homicide and corporate fascism.

Jonestown to the power of infinity

And tomorrow all the idiots will vote them right back into power, whether their pet homicidal maniacs wear an R or a D behind their names.

How do you stop an entire nation from committing cult suicide?
