Recycling misinformation, WSJ's Fund accused Gore of "environmental exaggerations and hypocrisy"
In his March 19 Wall Street Journal column -- titled "Whose Ox is Gored?" -- columnist John Fund replicated misinformation from a March 13 New York Times article by William J. Broad and produced some of his own to accuse former Vice President Al Gore of "environmental exaggerations and hypocrisy."

The GOP talking machine must really be afraid of Al Gore. With hacks like Fund talking the anti Gore line.

Don't worry, Doris. Several posters should be here any time to tell us that it was cold at their house today.Most of them will not read the item, so they'll miss this great line;
The New York Times last week interviewed many scientists who say they are alarmed "at what they call [Mr. Gore's] alarmism on global warming."
You've gotta love people getting alarmed at other people they perceive as being "alarmed".

Doris, the GOP IS REALLY afraid of anything Gore.
To remind voters again and again that if the Supreme Court had not appointed Bush the 2000 election, think about where we would be. I know of at least 3,200 people who would still be alive and at least 72,000 would not be so severely injured that there lives will NEVER be the same again.
Yes don't remind the people.

Al Gore is not a scientist. Of course there are complex, nuanced and arcane aspects of climatology about which he will not be absolutely 100% correct. But as a non-scientist Al Gore has done a remarkable job explaining, in basic terms, the concept and possible dire consequences of global warming.
In life, the truth usually lies somewhere between extremes and even if Al Gore is only half-right about global warming we should not only be concerned but preparing for it.

Another problematic is that global warming shifts effects everyone, even the corporate polluters who want to take Al Gore down. The corporate CEOs may get enough money to prepare an underground lair or some such hideaway if the climate breaks, but I doubt they will be able to bring their propaganda masters.

"The corporate CEOs may get enough money to prepare an underground lair or some such hideaway..."
Nah... they probably figure they'll all be dead by the time the really nasty global warming bacon hits the fry pan. They will have made their bazillions of dollars and lived luxuriously, if not scrupulously. So, hey... who cares about the suffering of a bunch of strange people they've nevr met or who haven't even been born yet? You think these guys are liberals or something?

Fund is a political operative doing his job. Attacking Gore is part of that.
Attacking Al Gore's movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” is the stuff of which the life of a NeoCon political operative is compiled. Of course the movie was flawed, that was to be expected. Al Gore was fed disinformation by such long time corporate plants as Maurice Strong for years. How was Gore to know? Strong exudes charm and has always arranged to receive honors from the oil companies for whom he hijacked the Environmental Movement, starting at the UN in 1970. Many of the gaseous inaccuracies sold by folks like Strong naturally made it into the movie.
Not that there is not global warming – but the cause if far simpler than anything to do with 'greenhouse gases.' The cause is simple particulation of carbon and sulfur in the atmosphere. Those are directly caused by burning petroleum products, hard to blame on those pesky green houses. Ensuring that such misconceptions are in place so they can later be attacked are curiously like the blooper we now know as Rathergate. The records Rather exposed were true – they had just been copied onto a different form, it seems. Sloppy journalism, yes. False to fact, no. This is exactly the kind of thing Rove does routinely to call the whole into question and lead the howling pack off a cliff. Other attacks on Gore include the sad fact he spent too much on power for his large home. Given how much power costs today that seemed more a cause for sympathy to me. It was far more outrageous that Al did not manage to find better and cheaper technologies to get himself off the grid. Even W managed to do that on the Old Faux Ranch in Crawford. You were probably conned, too. If you celebrate Earth Day in April you have been had. Earth Day was yesterday, celebrated at the UN for Peace, Justice and the Earth.

I have always asked this question and will continue to do so.
WHY do the GW people have to rely upon lies?
Or for that matter, why do they lie all the time?
Why do they lie about Gore so much?
Simple.
They are terrified of him. They know if he becomes the next president (And if there is a God, he will be our next president) he'll start coming down on the corporate ownership of Congress and the current White House. Corporations do NOT like to be told to be responsible partners on Earth to both humans and animals, not to mention the entire planet.
