On CNN, following Schiavone's false claims, Dobbs falsely claimed that Obama and Clinton are "not for border security"

Summary: On Lou Dobbs Tonight, CNN correspondent Louise Schiavone falsely asserted that in votes cast last week, Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton "said no to additional funding for border security, immigration enforcement, and deportation of criminal aliens." Additionally, Lou Dobbs falsely claimed that Obama and Clinton are "not for border security."

Lou Dobbs thinks troops and a wall are what is needed for border security. If that's the premise, then neither Obama or Hillary are for border security. If you disagree with his premise, that's fine, but he isn't being misleading.

Correction: thats troops and a wall on the southern border. He could care less what happens on the canadian border.

I agree that Dobbs is consistent.

It is absolutely misleading. In the end Obama and Clinton are in favor of border security. Dobbs is talking through his hat.

How does Lou Dobbs keep his job??

Thank goodness for these hordes of millions and billions of illegal aliens, crawling all over the face of our country, and saturating every square inch of the American fabric... if not for them, who knows where lou dobbs and his legions would direct their fear anger and hatred... probably at true blue red-blooded Americans like me and you, no doubt.

Posted by roundhouse in reply to Dem02020

Indeed. Americans exactly like you and me.

Posted by snoopy in reply to Dem02020

I thought the right was already directing all that hatred at us? Are you telling me they haven't even warmed up yet?

Posted by ben in reply to snoopy

Funny thing about hate, you can't really run out.

Posted by anotheramerican in reply to snoopy

To accuse conservatives as being hateful is intellectually a very lazy rant.

God Bless all Americans and the freedom we have to express our own particular points of view.

Uummm..., oh-kay... keep up the good work, AA.

Just Americans?

Posted by Lynn in reply to anotheramerican

I know your a good Conservative Christian AA because you've said many times here that you are. I hope you take the time to read this, the first is written by a man who still considers himself a Conservative Christian. The second is by a Progressive who talks about the fears of a prominent founding father that God might be unhappy with America. Anyway have a Happy Easter.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/frank-schaeffer/this-good-friday-let-us-_b_92645.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steven-waldman/john-adams-god-damn-amer_b_92659.html

Ah, but I didn't accuse conservatives. I accused right wingers. Are you trying to claim that right wingers are now conservative?

Dobbs is an a-hole.

Clinton and Obama make the sensible choice of rejecting fences and radical hardline anti-immigration stances by voting for Menendez's amendment and so naturally Dobbs smears them, as easily as he breathes, as open borders people.

Dobbs.

A-hole.

whatever.  how long does it take to get these things done.  how many decades.  the fact is that the governors of arizona and new mexico declared border emergencies in 2005 due to crime and strains on social services, and said the federal government was not doing it's job.  you may have seen one of them in the news today, bill richardson.   the city of phoenix has one kidnapping a day tied to drug and smuggling gangs.  but let's have a vote where maybe, just maybe, we might take some action sometime soon.

this is about the kidnappings in phoenix tied to drug and human smuggling rings.

I'll reiterate Dobbs is an a-hole and this study informs my opinion of him.

http://www.ppic.org/main/publication.asp?i=776

"Immigrants are far less likely than the average U.S. native to commit crime in California, according to this issue of California Counts. For example, among men ages 18-40 – the age group most likely to commit crime – the U.S.-born are 10 times more likely than the foreign-born to be in jail or prison. Even among noncitizen men from Mexico ages 18-40 – a group disproportionately likely to have entered the United States illegally – the authors find very low rates of institutionalization. Such findings suggest that longstanding fears of immigration as a threat to public safety are unjustified."
